so i was at the grocery store today and the apples are down to 99 cents a pound. Finally! winter is here, apples are in season again! so then i can vividly picture myself at our market in paris LAST winter, and going to the market throughout the year, the apple prices rising (and the apple quality falling), until by april it was better to just buy melons or berries. seasons are a funny thing. they surprise you. one day you're in paris buying your cheap apples and freezing your arse, next thing you know the endless cold ended, spring has come, you've flown back home and then away again, to another cold place, where winter is a comin but at least that means the apples are cheap (and crunchy!).

on another note, last night was the opening concert of the Cleveland Orchestra. They are amazing. Had a little person baritone (really) sing Mahler songs- amazing. Some playful Johann Strauss to end, my first time to hear Viennese waltz live.

And two nights ago Nunu called just as I was feeling like I didn't have a friend in the world, and we talked for an hour and a half, about the harp world and our respective love lifes and whatnot. I love her.

and tomorrow (or tonight rather) is yom kippur. I'm not fasting b/c i must practice and I must eat to practice, well. today i played six hours. feels good. unbalanced, but good.

only 51 more days until i see shawny.
